Zotero will retrieve their citation data from Google Scholar and turn them into cite-able items with PDF attachments. Right-click the PDFs and choose Retrieve Metadata for PDFs. Next, just drag your PDF files into the Zotero pane.

Look at the page for an Export or Save tool (most databases have this feature) Follow the two steps shown in the column below to install Zotero for Firefox. Perform your search and select the item you need. Move the file to your EC network drive, then follow the directions for importing the RIS file into the citation manager of your choice. 
Click on the “Download” icon at the upper right of the browser window, then click on the magnifying glass to show the RIS file in Finder.
In Safari, a dropdown menu opens select “Download Linked File”. Click on “Save” to download the file, then click on “Open Folder”. In Internet Explorer, a toolbar opens at the bottom of the browser window asking what you want to do with the RIS file. Right-click on the file and select “Open Containing Folder.” The RIS file should be at the top of the list. 
If this fails, follow the instructions below. Zotero should connect with Word automatically when you download it. Click on “Save file”, then click on the blue “Downloads” link at the upper right corner of the browser window. Zotero will keep track of everything and produce a bibliography at the end.
In Firefox, a pop-up window asks what you want to do with the file. At this time, a beta version is available for Safari Zotero connector. Open your preferred web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge Connector) and click the Zotero Connector link on the Download page to install it. Right-click on the file and select “Show in folder”. Connectors allow your web browser to save citations to your Zotero library. In Chrome, the downloaded RIS file appears at the bottom of the browser window. Perform your search and find the item you need. Log into your citation manager account, and leave the tool open on your desktop.
